the weekend of Love and Respect

We had such a great weekend.
It was good for us as couples who mentor engaged couples to get fed ourselves with truth from God's word.
We watched the video series called Love and Respect.

I think we all came away with some really good information for our own marriages and also some insights that we can offer to couples as they embark on one of the biggest commitments of their life.

Besides enjoying conversations with the other couples..
we had time alone with our spouses to rest and rejuvenate.

It was over all too soon.
Check out time seems much earlier than check in time...
doesn't it?

We took the roads less travelled on our way home and when we got home...
we found the farm in tip top shape.
Another blessing!

all for now...

  1. Wouldn't it be grand if all married couples could look forward to such a weekend about once a year? Such a dream come true could change the course of life and societies I think!

So glad that at least there are a few like you who get such a time in modest repayment for the hours of serving to strengthen marriages. I salute you!

  2. Learning and then passing it forward because you care, and God has placed this ministry on your hearts. Glad you had a relaxing and enjoyable time away. It is so pretty there. Have a good week.

  3. Looks like you had some nice weather for your retreat! Beautiful photos. Yes...what's up with check in at 3:00 and check out at 11:00 or 12:00??? I guess they have to give some time for cleaning..I'll give them that.

  4. I'm so glad that you got to take that in...it makes so much sense. There is never an end to praying for our new young couples and ourselves in our own relationships. Satan can so quickly kanive his way into any marriage.

  5. What a gorgeous photo that final one is...such blue skies! Yes, I think it would be great to get away for such a weekend every six months or so. What a neat thing it is that you and Terry do for the young ones just getting married. It's a wonderful ministry. Now how many do you have now? Ministries that is? =D

  7. So good that a time like this is made available to the mentors. You cannot keep giving without being fed. I've read the book and the love and respect wheel realy makes sense for a happy functioning marriage. I'm sure the video serries would be great to watch.
