Yesterday in the afternoon we did a loop around the eastern end of the Fraser Valley.
I expect this will be the last few days of color on the trees and it was now or never to get some photos of the fall foliage in our part of the world.
The rain threatened all afternoon and sprinkled now and then.
We kept saying that sunshine would make it ever so much brighter but really ..
it was still beautiful.
We crossed over the Fraser River at Mission City.
Travelling on the north side of the river ..we headed North and then east towards Harrison Hot Springs.
We made a stop at the Hazelnut Farm and then headed through Agassiz.
We then headed west through Rosedale.
We drove along side the Fraser River again on the southern side. ..
and made it home. .
just before dark.
Fall drive to see the foliage. .
done.
all for now. .
It was a pretty drive in a beautiful part of the world in a colorful season.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I picture you two touring about in the vintage blue truck, even while knowing that the truck is not ventured forth in theatening rain.
What a beautiful drive....
ReplyDeleteDeanna
Gorgeous drive, beautiful photos. Sometimes I think an overcast day shows the colors to their best advantage.
ReplyDeletesuch gorgeous countryside! I think I could live there....
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorite things to do is to just drive with no destination in mind.
ReplyDeleteWe find the most interesting and beautiful spots.
Harrison is lovely any time of year.
Thanks for sharing your great Fall photos, Lovella! Since we never see Fall color on our trees down here (could you imagine a palm tree changing colors with the season?), it's nice to be able to see the colors in other parts of the continent!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful drive Lovella. Very nice color.
ReplyDeleteI think you caught the last of the best colour. The wind has made short work of the leaves in the last little while. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us along. It was a gorgeous drive.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
I was relieved to see that not all the leaves had been blown off while we were gone this past week. Still enjoyed the colors on my walk this morning!
ReplyDeleteYour drive sounds like a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The leaves really are still beautiful...for mid-November! I was glad they hung on for my return home.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful scenery! We have been there as I have a sister in Chilliwack and I think it's a most beautiful place nestled in the foothills.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful drive, and one with which I am well-acquainted! The fall colours are truly beautiful this year.
ReplyDeleteFunny! We did the same loop, but in reverse! Started in Chilliwack, through Agassiz, Mission, to Langley, then back home.
ReplyDeleteEvery Remembrance Day we go for a long drive with the kids, the same-ish route each year. But unlike you, we had RAIN!!! But it was still enjoyable.
And you are right about the last few days of fall color! After the winds the past few days, the color is all but gone!
Thanks for sharing!
The hazelnut farm?? Can you buy nuts there? I would love some fresh nuts. Thanks for the tour. Here in Alberta we are buried under 6" of new snow and predictions of blizzard like conditions overnight. Winter has arrived!
