my valentine

After he worked an extraordinary week of days and most evenings in the barn. . .
I told him not to worry about a Valentines Day gift.
I went and bought us a hand picked selection of our favorite chocolates . .
and a bunch of my favorite colored tulips for our brunch table.
We called our kids to come for brunch so we could hand out Valentines . .
then.. . on Sunday night we ordered Chinese food .
Tonight. ..we'll make us a dinner for two. . .
and I think we'll call it "done".

After decades of faithfulness from my beloved. . .
I don't want him to jump through any hoops.

Happy Valentines Day my dear ones . ..
all for now . ..

  1. Well said! We've had much the same sort of weekend - just lots of time together. It doesn't get any better than that.

  3. I feel the same way....being together with someone you love and who loves you....simply the best. Like your Valentine look.

  5. No hoops here ...
We had a nice time around the table at the dinner on Friday ... and a little visitor for the day yesterday. Today I'll have to think of what to make for dinner after we hand off the edits... it's all good!

  6. "Decades of faithfulness" ... what a lovely thing to say. It sounds like love abides in your home.

  7. Thank you for those lovely thoughts. After 45 years of a marriage "happy precious days" together are the best gift of all!

  8. Sounds like my kind of day! The hubs & I went out for lunch this afternoon & took our three year-old grandgirl with us ... what a sweet Valentine cutie she is ... being with the two of them (and listening to her giggle as she ate her 'noodles') made for a perfect day! Happy Valentine's Day from WV!
