Yesterday my beloved suggested that we do one of our favorite things.
We went out on a date . .
and after an afternoon together . . .
we picked up a loaf of heavy whole grain bread . . .
a tube of liver sausage and a brick of red pepper cheese.
Two tiny pieces of that left over carrot cake was the perfect ending.
Sweet common simple things that speak peace and comfort.
( and the bonus was that when I went to take a picture before we began to eat ...
he took it all in stride .. I noticed that too)
all for now .. .
how romantic! an early Valentine's evening :-)
ReplyDeleteI like that..a nice ending to a wonderful day:)
ReplyDeletei always smile when I see our similar 'events' posted here. Those are such relaxing and enjoyable date days. I also made a carrot cake yesterday....perfecto! The kids and grands went gaga over it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your help last night as I constantly interrupted your romantic fireside with questions ... yes... I still do have much to learn from you, Lovella. =)
ReplyDeleteI love these kind of picnics in front of the fire! Lovely...
ReplyDeleteThere must be something in the air - this is what I'm planning for tonight!
ReplyDeleteMmm mm! I'm going to get some red pepper cheese for a change - sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the perfect winter picnic to me (well, except for the liver sausage, maybe!).
ReplyDeleteLiver sausage?? Everything else sounds great!

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next post....funny Bob (husband) and I love to by loaf of bread, buy a few different cheeses and call it a date...
Hugs!
One of my husband's favorite meals is a simple one like this, Lovella. He loves provolone cheese, a sopressata dry Italian sausage and a good loaf of crusty bread. Add a piece of fruit at the end and he's very happy!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that for so many of us, this is a favorite thing to do. We love liver pate, crusty bread and cheese with a glass of sparkling Italian white wine.
