the days of the travelling sisterhood. . part 3

On Thursday morning . .
one week ago ..
we met at Minter Gardens for lunch. .
and then roamed at our leisure for the afternoon.

We moved to the front of the line and then to the back of the line and sometimes found ourselves in the middle of the group.

It didn't matter who I walked with because I loved them all.

The waterfall in the middle of the garden had sets of benches on this side that gave us an excuse to sit and chat. . .whilst being seated.

Late afternoon we arrived at Julie's clubhouse to find her busy in the kitchen stirring her borscht.
By this time we were becoming quite accustomed to being waited on hand and foot so we put our feet up and waited for the come to the table call.

You know you are loved when a person who can not eat wheat makes fresh buns and schnetki to go with your soup.
We oohed and ahhed over her baking while she passed it by.
I felt very bad but excused myself from the table long enough to put a schnetki in my take home basket for my beloved.

At some point the cameras slowed and we focused on the task at hand knowing that our time together was not lasting much longer.
Our social committee and actresses. . .
Kathy and Marg. .
had done such a beautiful job of making our time together so incredibly enjoyable that we all agreed that the job is theirs for future summits whether they like it or not.

Three days .. .ten women. . lots of laughs. . .lots of tears. . lots of sharing and lots of caring and ultimately . . memories that will last a lifetime.

all for now. .

  1. It is so true that memories were made those days to last a lifetime. My heart is still so full of everything that was poured into our lives those three days.
You ladies made us outta towners feel very welcomed, very loved, very wanted, and very spoiled.
All of you put in such an wonderful effort and we were able to really relax.
No words can really express how I felt.
A simple heart of gratitude saying thank you hardly seems enough.
    but.....thank you!
You are all amazing, genuine, sincere, hospitable, warm, loving, fun, I could go on and on...

  3. It's so true...as I looked at the group photo...it looks like we all matched our colors in some form or fashion. It was all fun, and there truly was excitement in being part of the planning committee...just watching the anticipation of the events occurring, watching peoples expressions...
Sigh it's over, but not the memories.
Now it's on to bigger and better things.

  4. By the end of our time we really were all filled up to the brim and overflowing. God showered us with so many blessings of love and friendship. Thank you valley girls for all the fun and thanking you prairie girls for adding your unique touches to our time!

  5. A magical time for you all and the good thing is that the planning has already begun for the next summit...I think? It must've been great fun on both sides...to be the one serving and to be those served. I'll never forget what my aunt said to me as she prepared everything for eight of us: "Thank you for staying out of my kitchen." Ha! But so true...too many cooks in the kitchen only cause troubles. Far better to wait for the call to the table!
