sunset in the east

We don't see the sun set from the farm. . .
but when I look out my window to the east and see the sky reflecting from the sunset. . .
I know the sunset in the west must be spectular.
I don't have to see the reality to believe it is there.

All for now . ..

  1. Wow! I guess so.

Very rarely we see the pink tinges in the east and wonder about what's going on in the west. We see sunset shadows in the winter, but never the full one.

Is a mountain hiding your sunset? Trees are hiding ours.

  2. yes, it was quite spectacular in both directions. the east also had a small section, yet very bright, of a rainbow for a little bit. it was quite the evening for a walk :)

  3. And where was I last night when the sun was setting? At times we get too busy to see God's artwork. Not good.

  6. What a gorgeous picture, wish I'd looked out and seen that last night. I always think of my mother's old adage 'red sky at night sailor's delight' and when I see those pink skies, I look forward to the sun the next day - and here it is!!!

  8. Lovella, why can't you see to the west?
I'm wondering if the recent gorgeous sunsets are due to dust in the upper atmosphere from the Icelandic volcano eruption. Whatever the cause, I'm out with my camera each night taking pictures as the sun slides down over the western mountain range.

  9. Beautiful... it reminds me of our view of Baker... we had company from the Prairies and I guess we must have said it once too much... "Look at Baker!" ..her response was, "Don't you ever get sick of it?"
