When you were little. . . . did your mom insist that you walk in the crunchy leaves?
Mine did.
I was thinking it might be nice if you all meet me at the end of the driveway and we could do the annual crunchy leaf walk together.
I would tell you about how even when my beloved and I were dating. . .we would go for at least one drive up the mountain just to see and feel the beauty of the season.
Somethings are meant to remain the same year after year.
We are leaving this morning before breakfast. . .. and who knows when we'll be back.
I'm excited. . . and I'll giggle like a school girl. . . just like my mom used to do.
Have a wonderful day my friends. . .
Have a wonderful day crunching!!
ReplyDeleteWe've been crunchy leaf walking, too, but I'm surprised that you are already doing that out there in BC. Have a lot of fun and giggle away!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...we missed it here. We usually take a drive to the valley and get our 'crunchy' fill in one beauty-filled day of hiking, but somehow this year we let that slip by. It's been raining the last couple of days - doesn't do much for keeping the crunchies in the leaves. Enjoy your walk!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love those crunchy leaf walks!
ReplyDeleteHave fun Lovella..
You picked the perfect day...wish I was going walking!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! When I'm on a walk I try to crunch as many as possible! Everytime we cross the resevoir I tell the children "Look at the pretty leaves" and they say "Mom, you always say that." and I say, "I'm going to say it until you say it for me!" :)
ReplyDeletewonderful.......just enjoy and giggle away.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like the crunch of leaves and being excited like a little school girl.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the same thing here on the other side of the country!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Lovella!
Oh wow ... LOOK at all those leaves! You are a fair bit ahead of us in the fall season. We could walk through the crunchy acorns, but not the leaves! Enjoy your beautiful fall day.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today, and almost phoned to insist you take pictures of the miraculous fall day. The sun rise was gorgeous. From my classroom, it looked like the whole day was!
ReplyDeleteNice hat! :)
What fun! I always loved walking in the crunchy leaves. So far on this trip, I've had that opportunity...and I anticipate more leaf-crunching later this week when we reach my daughter's farm!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your leaf walking! As I was driving to the freeway this morning on the way to work, the leaves were blowing in the street, billowing out from the curb in the wake of the car in front of me. Even here in Southern California. We lost a lot of leaves today in the Santa Ana winds.
ReplyDeleteAh Lovella! You are so charming! Growing up in San Diego, there were no crunchy leaves. There was sometimes crunchy sand, but no leaves!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we got some leaves that had colors, not crunchy, but colorful. Downside...kitties liked to use them for poopy areas. Not so fun to frolick in.
Enjoy your kitty poop-free frolicking for me!!!
I LOVE fall leaves... We had huge maple trees on our last property and the leaves were deep on the ground! and yes ! the crunch under my feet was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI remember where you grew up... As a child I loved to come over in fall and we would all go for a walk up a mountain trail. I'm not sure now where that would be though! We must have driven to get there, I'm thinking.
