'twas sweet

The things a person can learn on a sabbatical are most intriguing and most restful.
We had the best vacation as a couple that we've ever had. We continually marvelled at this revelation as it dawned on us . We had decided not to call home at all but we had a weak moment half way through when I snuck up on my beloved and held the picture that we have of our two little grand babies snuggling together looking like they are in cahoots and the next thing we knew the cell phone was turned on and we were dialing them up asking to speak directly to the babies. The first attempt landed us listening to the baby monitor and the soft cooings of a child talking herself into a nap. The second call had us listening to some complaining and then some good old slurping. That left us content, the phone was turned back off and it was the two of us once again until we came home,
I'll post much more of exactly where we were and what we saw tomorrow. Today just imagine you are sitting on your lanai and this is your view. The temperature is hovering between 75 and 85 and in the evening a light sweater is all that is needed to sit out side to enjoy the crashing of the waves and the view of the moon on the water.

Thank you so much for all your words of kindness. All of you add a piece of the pie in my life. I missed hearing about your lives and I missed your comments about mine.

My day today is a heap of laundry, a grocery list, a pile of mail .. . .well you know the drill.

I just wanted to tell you I'm back and I'll be getting into my groove this week.
Oh the pedometer, I just see it now . . .. .Oh shoot.
Okay .. .it's on .. .

See you tomorrow my friends.

  1. Welcome back! It's so good to see you back at your blog. Hmm, that wouldn't be Hawaii, would it? Sure looks good wherever it is! I'm glad you had a time together like that - just the two of you.

I won't be online for a week - the movers are here and they're disconnecting and packing up everything! I'm glad I got to check in with you before I sign off!

  20. Hi Lovella,

Welcome Back! I usually pop into your site just to peek a bit and giggle (like when you were waiting in the house with the coffee pot and he was out in the garage with his pot on). : ) I am a sometimes blogger who flits around and doesn't think much about it, but I must say I REALLY MISSED YOU and your sunny spot on the map. Thanks so much for keeping your window open with a friendly chat about the beauty of daily life in love. Can't wait to hear about the trip! --Debbie in CA : )
