the life of the flu girl

I think I'll live. woo hoo. Okay, it's been a long time since I've been knocked down flat for this long. The crazy thing is I just had the flu. I felt so incredibly loved by all your sweet comments for a 3 day flu. I truly can't imagine what long term pain and discomfort could be like.
I'm going to take it easy today yet but I thought I would at least give you a small glimpse into my convalescence. I made a fantastic pot of soup, which I'll post the recipe for another day. My mom always made really good chicken noodle soup and I've never seen her spice combination in any cookbook.

Last night, I croaked from the couch, a snack might be nice. My sweet man brought me this to the coffee table and this morning when I downloaded the pictures I saw that he had even taken a picture of it in the kitchen before he brought it out. When I asked him about it, he said . .."I'm trained".
Currently these are my two favorite teas.
Alright, it's back to the couch, I've missed reading your blogs, and I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be back. I did mention to my good man, that it does seem that I need a notebook computer for my job so that I could work from my couch. He was amused at this.
Thank you again for all your loving thoughts, have a great day, and stay away from sick people.

  1. I'm glad Terry is taking such good care of you. What a good man. That soup looks so good. My favourite meal is homemade (mennonite) chicken noodle soup. My mom made such good soup and would make some freshly baked zwieback to go with it. What could be better?

  4. I'm so glad you are feeling a little bit better. I stopped by this morning to check on you. :) May the day go better and better and better --- so you can be skimming through life with your usual energy soon! The soup and tea look delightful! And your DH's snack plate --- I'm very impressed, not only that he took a picture, but with the creative design of the things on the plate! Great job! LOL!

  9. Glad to hear you are starting to feel better! TLC goes a long way :)

Our favourite green tea is Tetley Mint. We'll have to give pomegranate a try.

Good for you for helping Terry with the Christmas shopping already. You're very thoughtful :)

  13. Being sick is no fun - well maybe a tiny bit because of the TLC. There's some good lovin' going round at your house.

  14. How sweet of Terry to take care of your needs, and to even be so thoughtful as to take that photo! I'm glad to hear that you're beginning to recover, but don't overdo it.

  15. I laughed (nicely) when you said Terry even took a picture... I could so clearly imagine him alone in the kitchen trying to arrange the food the way you would and then took the photo... Not many like him around... I do think you better hold on tight!!! smile

I am glad you are feeling somewhat better.... although with the TLC you are getting I might go for another day.... smile

Mighty Leaf tea?? when my neighbour introduced me to it...all other tea took second place.

sending my love and a hug...I'm not afraid of computer viruses....

  16. Good to hear you are feeling a little better. I can't believe you made soup while you were sick. Take it easy, eh! But I know how a person can crave soup when you're sick. Have a good evening and rest up.

Keep taking it easy though because we don't want you to have a relapse! Besides, lap up all that kind and loving attention! ;)
