. .hold them close

In the last week there has been such a need to call upon the Lord in prayer.
Calls and emails, one after another with news that brings us to our knees.
Family and friends and their friends and it goes on and on.
This morning I opened my bible to these verses . . .
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you . . .Oh Lord
have never abandoned anyone who searches for you.
Psalm 9 :9
Father you know each and every need that those we love hold in their heart.
Meet them right there . . . I lift them up to you.
You know each need . .draw them close.
I'm almost certain that if you are reading this, you also have concerns for yourself or someone you love, I'm thankful that while I don't know what is on your heart, I know someone who does.

  1. Thank you for that reminder Lovella. God will meet us in our need. One of my favorite quotes is 'take the next step, God will meet you there'.

  3. I love that verse, Lovella.
What a comfort a shelter is to those who find themselves caught in a storm. And to have the Lord as a very real shelter from the storms of this life is such a rich blessing...
May all those struggling in pain or sorrow find peace and comfort in Him!

  4. There are several families on my mind and heart these days and I too pray that the Lord will hold them and carry them in His arms.
Just thought of the Footprints poem and remembered that the poet felt like God had left him and then realized that God had carried him when he couldn't walk. When those in pain can't even pray, we can all pray on their behalf and in so doing, carry each other's load.
