morning song

Blessed assurance Jesus is mine!
o what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit,
washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.
................................
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Saviour am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Fanny J Crosby, 1820 - 1915

This is one of my favorite hymns. There is really nothing like the peace that comes from above.
I woke up early this morning with my heart overwhelmed by God's love.

There is no place I'd rather be . . . .

I do hope your Sunday will be filled with joy and peace.
If it's not, I pray that someone will come along side of you today and show you love.

  2. I too love that hymn amd don't mind when it gets stuck in my mind. I miss having the begonias blooming,they were always part of San Diego summers.

  3. I like so many of Fanny Crosby's hymns, but this is one of my favorites. I have a piano arrangement for Blessed Assurance that I just love to play. I'm so glad you posted this today.

    Hope you are having a lovely Sunday.

  5. Thank you for sharing those poignant words and the photos of some of God's loveliest creations - I wish I could smell those roses! The old hymns are so wonderful and say so much; I don't know about your part of the country, but here in Southern California those beautiful hymns are not heard much these days in church. I miss them!
