roasting of the wiener




Last night it was one of the perfect fall evenings where you just want to take advantage of the crisp cool air. Terrence and Bea were picking up their niece Camryn for a sleep over and so they picked up some wieners and buns while they were out and then came back to our place. I grew up with the idea that wiener roasts were as special a treat as a Turkey dinner. In fact as a child we often would gather the family together, hike up the closest mountain and have our wiener roast on Thanksgiving monday. It never ceases to amaze me that a wiener roasted over an open fire can taste so delicious. The toasted marshmallows sandwiched in between graham crackers and chocolate chunks just ended our impromtu picnic perfectly.
