dandelions

After school...
there is no hope for immediate homework here.

A run in the field without socks and shoes...

with a faithful dog who is always willing to play the game.

Running with arms stretched wide...
back and forth...
back and ...
forth.

Watching and waiting for the best one.

Not everyone on the farm loves the delight of dandelion seeds...

But no one can deny ...
that at least watching little children...
finding enjoyment in weeds ...

makes it all ...

worthwhile.

all for now...
with love,

  3. Sweetness! Such delightful photos of freedom at the end of a long day and the joy of exploration.

Now that I've been in charge of homework for several months, I have tried it three ways:

    1. After school snack, homework, playtime
    2. After school snack, playtime, homework
    3. Playtime, snack, homework

So far, the last one is winning because playtime can be interrupted with the desire for a snack and then one moves on to homework more or less willingly. This is further complicated by the fact that the first-grade teacher gives a lot more homework than the second-grade teacher, but one can't change that.

The grands look as if they are enjoying their time with you very much. I was here earlier reading yesterday's post to John because I wondered if he'd have the same reaction I had. He did. He said, "What're you trying to do, get my glasses all steamed up?" LOL

  5. OH the fun of a field to run in. With a dog....and dandelions. I smiled when I see the little fellows full head of thick hair...reminded me of his dad's hair at that age. They will go home with many stories and wanting to come back to the farm.
