we had snow

Friday evening as we relaxed...
I knew it was snowing even before I looked outside.
The road noise changes outside the bungalow.

The car and truck tires sounded muffled.
So...I looked out the back window..
and said..."it's snowing"...
and then we were both looking out the window towards the yard light.

We get enough snow not to be shocked by it...
and yet not so much that we don't still stand and watch the flakes big or small...
sloppy or delicate...
and feel like children feel at the idea of it.

I never cease to marvel at the beauty of nature.
The word of God comes back to me over and over again...
in worship at the creation.
I felt grateful for warm clothing and housing and energy to enjoy it all.

Today is a Grammie Day.
The girls will be here bright and early.
We'll just hang out...
do a little reading and play a few rounds of the matching game once the littler one naps.
I think we'll put together a pot of soup...
and make some Valentine shaped biscuits...
and perhaps...
walk around in the snow until someone thinks of Hot Chocolate.

all for now...

  1. Your valley wears snow well. Yes, the sounds in snow are very different.

Having a plan for a Grammie Day is important. Sounds as if you've got it all under control. Now, I don't and must get one before three this afternoon!

  8. Oh, enjoy the Grammy day putting all that love into those little ones, while we sit at this end of the valley watching the Northeasterly flows...I think this is our blast..It's cold in Prince George, but we can smile and sit in our cozy homes.
