What are you looking for?

I love Easter Mornings. . .

and though the pretty Easter displayes .. .

have little to do with our celebrating a risen Saviour. . .

the artistic side that God gave me. . .

appreciates them.

Don't you just love the Easter Story?

No matter how often the verses are read. . .

they still hold the delight and moment of triumph at the end of the passage. .

Ah . .I get goosebumps. . . this passage is written with the heart of a woman in mind. . .and perhaps that is why I find it so tugging.

Listen how it is written in John 20:10 - 16

Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"

"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that is was Jesus.

"Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."

Jesus said to her, "Mary"

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

Isn't that just fantastic?

Today. . . I'm hiding eggs. .. . for the wee ones. .

and while I help them find them. . .

I'll be reminded how Mary looked in the tomb .. .searching for the Saviour. .

and her delight when she found Him very much alive.

The truth of this. . is not just a hope .. it is knowledge and a certainty. .

our Lord reigns. . .

Have a blessed day. . . .with love,

  7. What a wonderful way of weaving the story together with your little ones. You remind me of someone very special, gifted and creative.
I love exploring those wonderful ways of acknowledging not only the Easter bunnies but the whole experience for our little ones.
Some day I will share a very special story that I creatively worked through with my own children.
Now I'm waiting for my own grand kids grow up a bit more, to understand the meaning.

  8. Yes, I do love the beauty of Easter decorations. And the Easter story is most certainly the most central to our very lives, isn't it! The portion you quoted is so full of emotion -- reminds me of the passage where Joseph's brothers recognize him, which I also find to be a very moving portion of Scripture.
