Cake Testing

It won't be long and we'll be planning our little private Valentines menus for our loved ones. . won't we? I tried this cake the other day. . and now I suspect it could be on the menu for Valentines Day. It is made in a 5 inch Springform Pan enough to serve 4 or .. .2 today and 2 tomorrow.

The beauty of homemade cake is not in the perfection of the cake itself as it is in the love that was poured into each mouthful.

I love looking through old recipe books and finding little gems that I've never tried. . .run on over to the Mennonite Girls Can Cook for the recipe.

All for now. . . with love,

  10. what a beautifully simple cake stand. I have decided that I want to collect unique and interesting cake stands. I only have one right now but whenever I am at my parents (Revelstoke, BC) i go to the antique store and check around. Yours is really sweet! And the cake looks delicious too!

  18. I made this recipe cake yesterday evening with sweet rice flour for the gluten-free family member, the 8-inch layer version, with the custard frosting. It was okay yesterday, but today, after being in the refrigerator all night, mmmmmmm, wonderful! Thank you for the recipe. Debbie
