the ocean & grill'n

We watched these surfers everyday. They were most entertaining. If you click on the pictures to enlarge them you will see the determination in their eyes. . . well you almost can.

I couldn't stop taking pictures of the water. Everything that went by was photographed. I kept one eye on the page of my book and one eye on the beach and the waves.

Feel the spray?

Hear the crashing against the rocks?

I'm rushing out the door this morning and seeing these pictures makes me groan. Was this only a few days ago?
Shoot.

We had a few really nice dinners out. We went into Whalers Village for dinner several times. We had one firm rule and that was .. . .never ever eat indoors.
Very firm.

Most days,
I had my personal chef .. .
run out to the grill.

Grilling chicken while the sun was setting.

Candle light dinners that lasted hours. . . .
Only coming in doors because we couldn't figure how to get the bed on the patio.
Sorry to rush, but I'm late, . . .
I'm still not wearing a watch .. .
I probably should be.
I already am confessing now that I'm not wearing my pedometer until next week.
Have a wonderful day my friends.

  7. I can almost smell the sea...great pic's. We also stayed in Napili once upon a time...however, we had a lot of rain so I never spent much time relaxing in the sand! I remember browsing Whaler's Village...and the shops of Lahaina. Sounds like you had a great time...enjoy the memories!

So how were the John Grisham books?

  8. Hi, Lovella, My daughter Shawna told me I must skip over to take a look at your blog. How dreamy!! We are leaving shortly for vacation at Kaanipali Villas. 12. Okay, I oogled over your pictures and must go take a look at mine in Italy to remind myself not to be jealous. I think God's allowing man to create cameras was a great idea! How quickly we can forget other parts of our lives! Gorgeous settings!

  14. Well I must confess that my waves are in a draft, waiting to be posted, so I'll just wait a bit more and choose another route.
I have a real thing about waves. I can see you got some good pictures.
It's just so beautiful and warm out there eh?
Every day I think about the ocean.

  15. Oh Lovella,

These pictures are just wonderful!! You captured the natural beauty of the tropics. thanks for sharing the memories of your vacation.

After travelling extensively over the last 11 years, Hawaii is STILL my most favorite place in the world! Actually, I got to live in Honolulu for 3 and half months while completing a YWAM DTS school back in 1996 - during my DTS I met my hubby! 2 years later we got married and went to Maui for our honeymoon. Last year we vacationed in Honolulu. It's been 12 years since my DTS - seems just like yesterday. Hawaii will always hold a special place in my heart =)

  16. ok ok ok

    I confess

    I am jealous :)

    sigh

My son spent a DTS in Hawaii. I'd love to go there but it is so far from the east coast.

And my very sweet husband doesn't LIKE the beach! what is up with that??? But he loves me so I may be able to persuade him to go someday.

In the meantime I'll enjoy my Island beaches and your pictures!
