Happy Valentines Day

Yesterday inbetween preparing for the evening festivites I ran out to take a few pictures
The sky was blue and clear and the air was crisp and clean and it was glorious.
The moon was lingering in the sky hoping for a little exposure. . .so I gave it some.
I treated my beloved to toasted no knead multigrain bread for breakfast this morning.
We're pretty stringent on having oatmeal with ground flaxseed and when we have anything but. . .the day holds the promise of being special.

Valentines Day has always been a simple low cost affair in our home .
It's more about the affection we share and gratitude that we still love one another.

I can count the times we've gone out for Valentines dinner.
When the boys were at home. . I made a special Valentines meal and cake for my family .. .
just like my mom had always done.

Now. .
I either make a special dinner for the two of us .. .as I did last year. . .
or
we'll cook something together. . .

(Oh look what I found popping up in my garden yesterday)

We're off on a date to Ikea this morning . ..
not that we need anything in particular but it is fun to poke around there.

If the weather holds we'll take in a walk somewhere along the way .. .
take some time to talk . ..

.. .share our hearts with one another. .
knowing that no matter what. . .

.. .we have each others backs.

That's what we'll do.
I would ask for nothing more from my valentine.

I hope you have a day filled with sweet moments. . .

To all the special people in our life ..

We love you!!!

Have a wonderful day my friends, my pedometer is reset and ready to go.

  4. What a sweet post! It sounds like a fun day!

My poor darling is working all day, followed by a session with his physical therapist (still recovering from his bicycle accident last month), so our dinner will be at home and a bit late...but we'll be together.
