WOO HOO

Normally, "putting away the decoration day" is a bit of a dreary task here at the farm. I'm sure the rest of you have a far better attitude towards the chore but I just like to get at it and get it done and then offer up myself a bit of a reward. Yesterday was the the first day though that my "true love" had something still tucked up his sleeve as it were.
A knock at the front door . ..(no one comes to the front door unless it is a census year, school child raising money by selling chocolate bars or . . ..a delivery man comes. In the middle of the mess . ..( I couldn't even open up the door .. ) a delivery man came with a parcel.
My true love set about opening the new box and voila . . .
Inside the Styrofoam case sat a nice new red note book computer. I never thought I would actually say this . ..but I looked at it and said . . woh . .. she is a beauty. . . .and she matches. OOOHHH.
It was like the radar immediately went off . .(no pun intended Terrence . .poor guy) . . .(family trait) . .. and our eldest came speeding over to start her up and see how she ran.

Oh boy . . .it's toysville around here. No more being polite around here and saying . . ."no that's fine . .finish what you were doing . .I'll record my farm stats later" . . .

No more running from the office to the kitchen trying to remember the recipes on blogs and recipe sites . . .no more running to the office to read blogs while I'm in the middle of making dinner . . .no more returning emails in the office when I can lounge in comfort on the couch. Yup . . .that's right . . .on the couch.
I love it. Woo Hoo.
Thank you my sweet man!!!
Have a wonderful day my friends.

  16. Way to go Lovella. That is so exciting. It's so exciting to see us keep adapting to the technology age. No one will out do us eh?

I have not shared with anyone what I received for Christmas but I'm saving it for another day.
I know about running up and down, trying to read emails inbetween, but I won't complain we have two computers in our home, one for my work and one for his office, My work could mean many different things.

Meanwhile my husband received a hitch for our SUV so we can throw the bikes on and go cycling and he was blown away, that I would think of something like that rather than another shirt. So tomorrow the hitch goes on.

    It's gets better with age.

  17. That's a very thoughtful gift! What a lovely husband you have.
Our computer is in our basement family room...and for good reason. I get a GREAT workout all day running up and down my steps to check my emails and blogs :)

  18. What an exciting gift! I know you will absolutely love it! I understand all the racing back and forth from office to kitchen! I'm loving my little MacBook --- sits right on the kitchen counter and slowly but surely I'm getting used to it. Of course occasionally I still send out an SOS to Rylan about how to do something or other on it. But then, that's what sons are for, right?

    :) Enjoy a happy time!

  22. Lucky you!!! What fun. Perfect color, perfect gift for the right girl. Terry knows you well and loves to see you enjoying the things you love to do. He is just making your hobbies more and more fun for you. Now...about having it in front of you when baking... you know us, we seem to do things in a hurry and woops! A big sprill of something sticky or wet could be a problem for Terrance to fix. Oh well, have fun with your new toys. You now need a tripod and a back pack and you will be set. Enjoy! Kathy
