Indee

Earlier today I posted about Indee having been hit by a vehicle. We didn't realize that it was as serious as it was.
When reality hit, I deleted the post, and with it the comments that you kindly left.
I've had a few hours to adjust and process her leaving us.
Perspective is always gained in time and though we are so sad to say good bye to Indee, we are mindful that she isn't suffering.
Living on a farm doesn't always look like the Norman Rockwell paintings.
We personally know people who are facing difficult challenges in their lives right now. We want to remember that their difficult situations are far worse than ours.
Today was a hard day on the farm, life is like that sometimes.
The rain is pounding down and that seems right.
All for now . . .
I'll be back tomorrow.

  1. I'm feeling your pain; we had to put our dog down two years ago, & I still miss her at times.
Those faithful companions, with their trusting eyes & "always excited to see you" personalities have a way of stealing your heart. I don't mind telling - I shed alot of tears for her, as I'm sure you are for Indee. And that's okay!!
    Sympathies,

  4. I'm so glad I had a chance to meet Indee and experience her in person. It is amazing that each animal seems to have unique personalities, and Indee, well, she was a girl with personality plus, a real character, and don't we have some fine video to prove it too?

I'm sorry she had such a short life, but am comforted to know that she loved every minute she had as Terry's "other" girl.

Hugs to Otis. Oh, how I do love Otis!

  6. Oh, I am so sorry to hear about poor Indee. We had our family dog put down this summer, so I understand the grief that you are going through. It is so hard, but at the same time comforting that you know she isn't suffering any longer.

  7. This is too hard to believe. I can feel your grief. It sounds like we all have some kind of dog grief in our lives. We had to put down our beautiful golden retriever and our horse, Cheval on the same day on January 28, 2007. It was so sad and painful, and then to watch our kids grieve the loss of family pets. They were a big part of our lives...

  8. I'm sorry about the loss of Indee. It's veery sad to lose a pet. I suppose it's part of pet-dom, to lose them over time, but Indee was too young and this was too soon. Our first Schnauzer was Libby. We had her before we had children --- and when the boys were little tikes, she was run over by a car. We were devistated! She left us with five male puppies; 5 weeks old. We nurtured those puppies with bottle feeding and lots of TLC. And we kept one --- and his offspring --- and theirs --- and the two we have today are still of the lineage of Libby --- nearly 20 years later. But we miss Libby still. She was a special friend. I know you will miss your special friend too --- I'm so sorry for your loss.

  9. Lovella;

    I am so sorry!

My heart aches with you for Indee...praying that God brings you comfort.

Losing a beloved pet is so hard, but I honestly believe that we will be reunited with them...after all the Garden of Eden was filled with animals that God created...they lived side by side with one another, enjoying the Presence of God and all the beauty therein.

praying for you my sweet friend. sending my heart and a hug!

  12. I am sorry Lovella.

It's hard. We've had to do the same.

These dogs of ours come to be part of the family. And it hurts.

I'm glad for all your happy memories.

  14. Oh no! I never met Indee, but you described her so beautifully in your posts that I've gotten all teary eyed for you. I HATE losing pets, but not having them is far worse. I'm sorry for your loss.
