eating bread . .and the garden

Earlier this morning I posted that I was making Jill's bread recipe. I thought I would quickly post our lunch. OK . . .are you making the bread yet? It is so crusty on the outside and wonderfully chewy and soft on the inside. Does Terry look happy?
We were supposed to wait until it was completely cooled but we didn't quite make it that long. The only thing I did different, is I let it sit on floured parchment paper instead of a Tea Towel.

This is where I started this morning's post.

Today I'm making the bread that Jill posted yesterday. I started it in the afternoon and it is now having its final rise on the counter. It's easy peasy and you must give it a try. It should be called bread for beginner bakers. I smile when I read some of the young blogger moms and remember when . . .girls, give this one a try, there is nothing like the smell of bread baking, to make your home feel homey.

In a few minutes my friend Kathy is coming with her daughter Adrienne . . .who is coming with her daughter Summer . . . .to see the baby chicks. Three generations of girls. Mothers and daughters . . .

I'm terribly excited to see them. Kathy I see regularly but I haven't seen Adrienne and Summer in a while. Such fun.

When I walk around my garden I thank my Heavenly Father for all the beauty. I thank Him for my family. I thank Him for my friends . . .what special gifts . .each one of them.

I thank Him for my husband who loves me . . . O Lord . . .I have so much. You know my heart Lord.

This morning the chorus . . ."Blessed Jesus, come to me . . .fill my soul with songs of peace. As I come to you alone fill me with your love."

Do you have a song in your heart this morning?

Is it overflowing with joy . . .or bleeding with sadness?

Is your burden heavy? Do you bear it all alone?

Sometimes I wonder about all of us blogging together, who are we and what fills our days when we walk away from our computers? I wonder about the people who read my blog everyday and I'll never know or meet.
I'm so encouraged by so many of you. So many encouraging comments. I'm truly grateful.

Please don't think that my life is perfect or that my heart knows no pain. I'm just like you . . .

These are my random thoughts . . .this is who I am.

  1. You could have a wedding or tea party in that there garden! Generational friendship is so precious and more so with our mobile society. Sometime the praises of God's goodness just flows, burbling like a stream. Other times the silence is like a dry creek bed...either way, the goodness is there.
Enjoy your friends and give the baby chicks an "ooh" and "ahh" for me. They are safe from Tigs, he's glued to B. who is down with the same flu everyone else has or has had. The FOC would never wander when his hero is down the quilts.

  7. Lovella, thank you for sharing your thoughts. There's a strange comfort in knowing that others go through similar struggles and burdens... this is a reminder to us all that there's a real person behind the idyllic blogging. How wonderful to know that God is there with us, no matter what our trials may be.
