can you see me now?

You know what I just love? People who "get" me. There are people in our lives who are so easy to love because they understand our heart and enjoy who we are. . ..in spite of our quirks.

The other day, we got an email from our friends Rob and Monica with these pictures attached. They were hovering above us. . ."unbeknownst" to us and snapped a photo of the bungalow and "then some". They knew full well that my blogging instincts would be pulsing with enthusiasm.

It is a bit sad, that you can't see me with my grands. . . romping in the field. .. but hey there is always next time. The photo is quite recent. . .you can see the beautiful colored tree that I posted recently. . .from our back forty. In the front right, is our bungalow. . .true to my word. . it is "just right. . .for the two of us". You can see where the chickens live. . .and play and work. OH. . .and there is the shop on the left. . .where my beloved spends time working on his old Merc.

Here is the trusty photographer and crew woman. . Monica. .
Thanks for the tour of the farm.
Next time. . .plop yourselves down. . . I have butterhorns in the oven.
Have yourself a wonderful day my friends.

  1. How cool is that! Your farm looks lovely. It makes me long to be back in Kentucky on ours (although we sold off the acreage with the house and buildings and just kept the crop land).

It would have been a perfect photo to have you all in there! What great friends!

  9. Every farm needs an aerial photo of itself! - and I'm glad you got yours now!

My husband grew up on a farm and his parents had the aerial photo of their farm hanging on the wall for as long as he can remember.

His Dad is in a home now, but still has it on the wall in his room. It brings back wonderful memories of his growing up years for my husband each time he sees it.

  12. What a clean, lovely farm. I hope you don't mind if I put a link to your blog on my blogspot. I've loved lingering here on this nerve-racking voting day here in the mid-USA to take my mind off the election. Thanks for your soothing blog.

  14. I think the farm would look better with a cat some where, sunning his fur. And helping out with those chickens. Yummmm....chickens.....

  16. I love the aerial view of your place. It is beautiful ... just as I expected! It jogged loose a funny memory from when I was a kid. Since you're responsible for jogging it loose, you're the one who will have to hear it ... sorry!

I grew up on a farm in a very rural area of the U.S. It was only us, a pecan orchard, and a few cows my dad raised for beef cattle. The only way into that place was a long, red dirt road. One day a pilot flew over the farms in our area, took snap shots, and sold framed, hand-colored pictures to all the farmers. We had a good laugh when the painting was delivered and we had been given a nice paved road! Turns out it was prophetic, because our road was paved just a few years after that.

  19. How fun....I love these high views. I'm looking for your flagpole - is that it near the trees in the center island between the driveways?

It all looks so clean and tidy...as many others have commented. And beautifully green too....
